A Very Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

Daniel, Emma, Bill and Nicola attended the International Managers Meeting this year which was held in Utecht. What a beautiful city and a fantastic opportunity to meet everyone who is part of the Babcock Wanson Group. The various presentations were fascinating and provided some great information to bring back to our colleagues in the UK. We also visited Standard Fasel who are part of the group which was very interesting to see. It was also lovely to spend some quality time with the Babcock Wanson UK team and get to know them all better!

This year our team had a fantastic day out at NPF Bassetts Pole! They took part in activities like the Quad Trek, Peaky Blinders Shooting, Laser Tag and Woodland Archery. Great fun!

We took an opportunity this week to enjoy an offsite team meeting. It was good to take a break away from the office and welcome our new team member!

Congratulations to David who has 20 years’ service with SPE on 24th March 2023! Thank you for all your hard work and commitment over the years!

Steam Plant Engineering Ltd began fund raising in October 2019 by doing a sponsored run, cake sales, glass charm sale and a chocolate hamper raffle! Thanks to all the kind donations and support from friends, family, employees, customers and suppliers we have managed to raise £1580.00 towards our 5K target. So, a massive thank you to everyone!

Sadly, due to Covid we have not managed to dedicate as much time as we would have liked this past year, but were having a last push to hopefully edge us closer to our target and support the 90 appeal.

This month the employees enjoyed a team day out, they all came back a little muddy to say the least but there were plenty of smiles and medals!

Steam Plant Engineering’s expertise is mainly focused on firetube steam boilers, whereas Babcock Wanson UK is a recognised leader in the field of thermal fluid and coil type steam boilers. Babcock Wanson and Steam Plant Engineering will combine their strengths to create a strong market leader in industrial boilers in the UK through:

• Development of the service contract portfolio in the UK
• Development of the valve maintenance business
• Offer turnkey solutions

Steam Plant Engineering’s organisation will be maintained in its current structure as a subsidiary of Babcock Wanson UK. On Monday 14th May 2001 when the company began, the Prime Minister was Tony Blair and the UK’s number 1 was S-Club 7 Don’t Stop Moving!

20 years later and we are extremely proud of what we have achieved, thank you to our customers, suppliers and of course hard-working employees! It would not have been possible without you and we look forward to many more years working together.

Daniel Garbett, Managing Director and Emma Newcombe, Commercial Director are celebrating their 20 years’ service as they began their SPE journey together with the launch of the company. Stuart Nisbet has also been with the company 20 years this year and will be celebrating his service In October, well done Stuart!

Thank you to everyone who has donated on and off line, all contributions have been uploaded and the total of the raffle tickets came to £736.00, the lucky winners are Ann Thompson and Andrew Gardiner and the employee winner was Alan Weetman, the hampers are now on the way to the lucky winners.

Welcome to SPE!

Our Managing Director Dan Garbett and Sales Manager Alan Weetman enjoyed taking part in the BVVA conference golf day.

It was a great opportunity to network with fellow BVAA members and have some fun on the golf course. Hopefully we will be able to attend next year!

ISO Accreditations

We currently hold accreditations for ISO 14001; we have just upgraded ISO 9001 to meet the 2015 standards and are very pleased to now have gained ISO 45001 as well.
